Gulung spring mempunyai sejarah yang panjang di China. Dikatakan bahawa pastri jenis ini muncul seawal Dinasti Jin Timur, apabila orang ramai menggunakan tepung untuk membuat penkek dan memakannya dengan sayur-sayuran pada awal musim bunga. Pastri ini dipanggil "Spring Dish" pada masa itu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kemudian, hidangan musim bunga berkembang menjadi kek musim bunga. Pada zaman Dinasti Ming dan Qing, terdapat adat "menggigit mata air", iaitu makan kuih musim bunga untuk menyambut musim bunga.
